Steele, Goehner leading in 12th District race

WENATCHEE — Keith Goehner will be the new Representative for the 12th District, and incumbent Mike Steele will retain his seat in the House of Representatives. In unofficial results, Goehner, former Chelan County Commissioner from Cashmere, is leading Winthrop physician Ann Diamond. Steele, the incumbent, is leading challenger Valerie Sarratt.

Goehner has 20,040 votes to 14,454 for Diamond in election results released Tuesday night. Goehner is a Republican; Diamond is an independent.

Steele, a Republican, has 22,560 votes to 11,855 for Sarratt, his Democratic challenger in unofficial results. Updated vote totals will be released at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and the election will be certified Nov. 27.
