MOSES LAKE — It was an incident that will no doubt be brought up every year around Halloween for years to come and Moses Lake police are asking for public help in locating the prime suspect in a murder that occurred four years ago on Halloween.

On that day 22-year-old Jose Pichardo was shot and killed as he was driving back to work in Moses Lake after he had spent his lunch break with his mother. Pichardo lost control of his vehicle after he was shot and ended up crashing into a nearby home, which was occupied by a mother and her small child, off of West Valley Road.

The prime suspect in the case, Luis A. Suarez Galvan, 22, has avoided capture since the murder, which the Moses Lake Police Department says is due to help he has received from friends. He is currently charged in Grant County Superior Court with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and drive-by shooting. The MLPD has received information that Suarez Galvan has been seen in the Grant County and Yakima areas.

“It has been a long four years for the friends and family of Mr. Pichardo. We know there is someone out there who knows where he is. We would appreciate anyone with pertinent information to give us a call,” states the MLPD.

If you have any information about Suarez Galvan’s whereabouts, or who may be helping him, contact the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-764-3900 and speak with a detective.
