Carter serves her constituents well

In full disclosure I am related to Cindy Carter through marriage. And I can honestly say that with pleasure. She is amazingly successful in whatever she pursues.

My family owns and operates a farm on the east end of the Royal Slope. Cindy and her husband, Rick Carter, own and operate a very successful and diverse farming operation on the west end of the Royal Slope. There are some very well-managed farms here at Royal and Carter Farms is one of the best. Because of circumstances from a motor vehicle accident in 2005 I have seen closely firsthand how they accomplish this. They value their employees, some of whom have been with them for over two decades. They realize that in order to be successful in agriculture, time is of the essence. They build relationships with all who have a vested interest in their success.

Cindy is one who never stops nor slows down. She doesn’t need to be a county commissioner to occupy her time nor for financial gain. Heaven knows she doesn’t need more on her plate. Cindy has served as a Grant County Commissioner because she always has the interests of others in mind.

I am elected, and like my two commission colleagues, volunteer my time as a fire commissioner for Grant County Fire 11. We, along with the fire commissioners of GCF10, are responsible for the Fire and EMS of the Royal Slope. First and foremost, our priority is the safety and service to our community. We have had incidents where residents and taxpayers of this community have run into insurmountable requirements posed by county departments which have no bearing on the outcome of safety. I have witnessed owners with dreams of a project come to tears from outrageous demands. When we have made this known to Commissioner Cindy Carter, she has immediately come to meet with Fire Chief Linn (who is a joint officer of both GCF10 and 11), the owners, and myself to review ”safety” issues the owners are expected to meet. Cindy has helped mitigate the issues. In our unique rural area we have other means of addressing the safety concerns posed by county departments who have had no allowance for cost concerns, common sense and alternate sufficient means to remedy the situation safely.

If you want someone who will meet with you, listen and act, then your vote has to go to Cindy Carter for Grant County Commissioner. Vote this Nov.6.
