Grant County PUD ready to show off improvements to Crescent Bar
CRESCENT BAR — A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 2 to showcase Grant County PUD’s $35 million Crescent Bar renovation project.
Some of the improvements include a new 55-site campground on the island side of the recreation area, as well as the River Bend Boat Launch and parking lot that offer free admission and are open to the general public.
The campground, according to Grant County PUD parks and recreation supervisor Jerri Mickle is unfortunately is already sold out for July and August.
Upgraded wastewater treatment and water systems are still under construction, which means only dry camping is available at the campground this summer.
There are new picnic areas that include barbecue grills, new swimming beaches and day use areas, brand-new playground equipment, and a bathroom with showers. A walking trail was also built to the end of the island
Mickle said fishing would be allowed from the riverbank, but not of any of the new docks that were put in.
Sidewalks have also been added in specific areas to comply with ADA requirements.
The renovation project that has been three years in the making is financed though the PUD’s general fund.
