A little support goes a long way

| May 24, 2018 1:00 AM

Memorial Day is fast approaching and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Othello is asking for your help again in the preparation of Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens. It is with your support that we have been able to have one of the highest acclaimed and most honorably decorated cemeteries in the area to witness to those veterans who have served their nation.

The schedule for preparation will be as follows:

Sunday, May 27, at 6 p.m. we will distribute the poles. First, they need to be washed down to get all the dirt off of them. We will also clean the memorial.

Monday, May 28, at 6 a.m. the flags will be raised and the small flags will be placed on the graves of each veteran buried at our cemetery.

At 11 a.m., there will be a memorial service with guest speaker John Lockard.

At 6 p.m., the flags will all come down.

It is the volunteers who make all this happen and we are proud of the support you have shown us over the last many years.

Thank you,

Eric Morgan, quartermaster
