Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program renounces summer schedule

WENATCHEE — The Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington has released it Senior Farmers Market schedule. The annual event and is open to all low income seniors 60 years of age and older (55 for Native Americans) who live in Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan counties.

Participants must show proof of age, have an income at or below 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Level and must be current residents of Washington state. American Indian and Alaska Natives are age eligible at age 55. Annual salary for one person cannot exceed $22,459. Maximum annual salary for two people is $30,451. Larger households can add $644 annually for each additional person.

Each qualifying senior will have an opportunity to receive a packet of vouchers worth $40 to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables and honey at participating Farmer’s Markets and Farm Stores in Washington. All voucher distributions are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Soap Lake Senior Center, 121 Second Ave SE, 11 to 11:30 a.m

June 5

Othello Seventh Day Adventist Church, 736 Elm St., 9:30 to 11 a.m.

June 7

Moses Lake Senior Center, 608 E. Third St., 9 to 11 a.m.

QuincySenior Center, 522 F St. SW, 5 to 6 p.m.
