Donna Rae (Perkins) Lozar
February 16, 1937 – October 14, 2017
We lost our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on Oct. 14, 2017.
She was surrounded by her loving daughters at the time she was called home to spend eternity with the love of her life.
She was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Ione, Wash., to Hubert Raymond and Gertrude Helen Perkins.
Mom spent the majority of her life being a homemaker. She enjoyed her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, sewing, crafting and cooking. Her favorite thing to do was going fishing with her daughters and her husband. Many fond memories were made on the shoreline of a lake, creek or river. Most summers were spent in a mobile home close to where Dad was working. Wherever life took us, she made it home. She was a selfless person who always put others first.
Mom worked at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake for a period of time. She made many lifelong friends while employed there.
During the later years of our mother’s life, she did a stellar job of caring for our father, the love of her life, her soulmate Jack Clinton Lozar. She never left his side. After Dad’s passing, Mom’s goals changed. She wanted to go home and be with Dad. Her health began to fail rapidly and on Oct. 14, 2017, her prayers were answered.
My sisters and I were blessed with the most loving, caring, and supportive parents anyone could ever ask for; to know them was to love them.
She leaves behind her four daughters Debbie (Greg) Doughty, Gloria (Jeff) Goodwin, Cheryl (Steve) Isherwood and Lynda Anderson; her amazing sister Ruth (Terry) Semanko and her sister-in-law Barbara Ralph, who was an amazing friend, caregiver and support to our beloved mother in the last year of her life.
She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several extended family members and many friends and last but not least, her beautiful kitty Mia.
A celebration of life will be held at the Cascade Mobile Home Community Club House, 2311 W. 16th Ave., Spokane, Wash, on June 23, 2018 at noon. All family and friends are welcome.
Rest in peace, our dear mother. Thank you for being the best you could be. We love you.
