Huskie Softball chases Jack Rabbits off the diamond

QUINCY – Othello picked up two key wins on the road at Quincy sweeping a doubleheader from the Jacks in CWAC league action May 4.

The Huskies dominated in both games taking the opener 21-2, and the nightcap, 11-1. Othello pounded out 36 hits in the twin bill. Breanna Marquina led the hit parade in Game 1 going 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles. Paulina Nunez got the start and the win.

Audisey Sauceda single-handedly took down Quincy in Game 2 with three hits in four at bats with a double and a home run. She also tossed a 3-hitter and allowed just one run.

Othello moves to 10-6 in the CWAC standings and onto sole possession of fourth place with two games to go in the regular season. The Huskies host a doubleheader with Grandview Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. If the Huskies finish as the No. 4 seed they will host a first round loser out district game against the No. 5 seed. The tournament then shifts to Carlon Park in Selah May 17.
