Seniors to tee off
Pairings for Sunday’s 10th Annual Seniors Best Ball Foursome Tournament will be posted at the Moses Lake Gold and Country Club pro shop.
The annual event has drawn a field of 147 entries this year and is bigger than in recent years.
Activities start with a breakfast in the club house from 8 to 9. Competition gets underway with a 9:30 shotgun.
School board sets calendar
School will begin after Labor Day for the 1976-77 year.
Moses Lake School District directors agreed that seemed to be the best time for school to resume next year Thursday night when they approved next year’s calendar.
Teachers will report Friday, Sept. 3, for in-service training with students starting classes Tuesday, Sept. 7, the day after Labor Day.
The year will run through June 9 and includes a one-week Christmas vacation, Dec. 24, through Jan. 1 and Spring vacation from April 6 to April 8, the same as for other districts in the Basin.
Starting after Labor Day will probably mean a higher average daily enrollment figure for the district, directors were told. In the past as many as 200 students have reported to school late when it started prior to Labor Day.
