| May 3, 2018 3:00 AM

October 26 1926 – April 26, 2018

Eva Lilian Wright, a resident of Moses Lake, was welcomed into heaven on April 25, 2018. She was residing at Columbia Crest Care Center, good friends at her side.

Eva was born in London, England on Oct. 24, 1926, daughter of Edward and Lilian (Tyzach) Wright. She was saved when she was about 8 years old and knew very early that she wanted to be a missionary.

She became a registered operating room nurse in London. She traveled extensively in Europe with a choral group and made many dear friends. In the mid-1950s Eva left England and came to Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. where she obtained a degree in theology. While she studied she worked as a relief nurse at CBC and Evangel College.

Eva served as a missionary in Alaska for nearly 20 years in the Village of Angoon and also at Kake where she pioneered Assembly of God Churches. She also spent time in Skagway and Juneau. She returned to visit Angoon several times after leaving Alaska.

Eva was quite an accomplished lady, obtaining two masters degrees, the first in 1959 in Bible theology in Springfield, Mo. and the second a few years later in the arts at Eastern Washington University. She spoke seven languages and wrote shorthand, was a Master Gardener, played piano and accordion and taught piano and voice lessons to many in the Moses Lake area. Her pet hobby was raising cairn terriers; several of her dogs were show-quality dogs. In later years Eva also worked with young people in the Grant County Jail helping them earn their GED.

Eva will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her sister Jean Castle from Perth, Australia, her many nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends. She will be missed but we know she is with Jesus and we are happy for her. Well done, good and faithful servant!

A celebration of Eva’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Assembly of God at 431 East Brown Ave., Moses Lake, Wash.
