GRANT COUNTY — It’s that time of the year for the kids to load up on their favorite Easter candy.

There are plenty of egg hunts throughout Grant County to enjoy.

Ephrata

The Ephrata Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a flashlight Easter egg hunt tonight at 8 p.m. at Lion’s Park. The hunt is open for grades 5-12 and participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and bag. There will be divisions for participants in grades 5-6, grades 7-8 and grades 9-12. In addition, on Saturday the Ephrata Rotary Club will be holding its annual free hunt at Lion’s Park at 1 p.m.

Moses Lake

The Moses Lake Lions Club’s popular hunt will take place on Saturday at noon at McCosh Park. Different sections of the park will be roped off for different age groups. Organizers suggest people arrive early to reserve their spot, as the thousands of eggs are usually gone a couple of minutes after noon. Also on Saturday, the Moses Lake Sand Scorpions’ hunt will begin at noon at the east end of the Moses Lake Sand Dunes in the red zone. Over 15,000 eggs will be hidden and after the hunt locals are encouraged to participate in a poker run.

Soap Lake

Bright and early Saturday morning the Francis Asker Memorial Easter Egg Hunt will be kicking off at 7:30 a.m. at John’s Food, 115 Daisy St. The Grant County Fire District No. 7 Auxiliary Highrollers will be holding a hunt at McKay Healthcare at 11 a.m. the same day for kids 12 and under.

George

The “Georgettes” will be hosting an early Saturday morning hunt at 9 a.m. at George Community Park.

Warden

The Warden Lions Club will sponsor the annual community Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Warden High School football field, 101 Beck Way. There are divisions for preschool children, kindergarten and first-graders, second- and third-graders, fourth- and fifth-graders. There’s one area for preschool kids getting help from their parents, and a separate spot for preschool kids hunting on their own.

Mattawa

Children can search high and low for eggs at Desert Aire Park, 368 Desert Aire Dr., starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
