Prep roundup: Arturo Aranbullo leads Quincy to win over Wapato

WAPATO — Quincy pounded the goal against Wapato and was rewarded with a win 3-0.

The Jacks shot 26 times to the Wolves’ 10.

Arturo Aranbullo scored the game’s first goal and assisted on another.

“He played a very well all-around game,” head coach Arturo Guerrero said. “He played all 80 minutes.”

Jesus Hernandez and Yordi Coronel added goals for the Jacks.

SELAH — Defensive miscues kept Ephrata from toppling Selah in a 7-5 loss.

The Tigers committed three errors, which led to three unearned runs for the Vikings.

“It was a good test to see where we’re at,” head coach Jason Laugen said.

The Tigers scored five runs on eight hits.

SPOKANE — Ephrata could not overcome a 10-0 deficit after the first inning and fell to West Valley 14-9.

The Tigers scored six runs in the fourth inning, cutting the deficit to two, before West Valley responded with four more runs in the fifth inning.

Jocelyn Eisen had two hits and three RBI.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 22, Curlew 3

CURLEW — Makenna Oliver had four RBI and Almira/Coulee-Hartline routed Curlew 22-3.

The Warriors led 9-3 after one inning before scoring 13 unanswered runs.

Oliver also struck out four batters in four innings of work. Josie Pierce and Tiffany Boutain drove in three and two runs, respectively.
