Grant County commissioners looking for interested citizens to serve on Solid Waste Advisory Committee
EPHRATA — The Grant County Board of Commissioners announce today that they are looking for two interested citizens of Grant County to serve on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) assists the Board of County Commissioners in the development of programs and policies concerning solid waste handling and disposal, in the preparation of solid waste management plans, and by reviewing and commenting on proposed rules, policies, or ordinances relating to solid waste prior to their adoption. Members are asked to attend a majority of the meetings which are held quarterly, at 2 p.m. at the Public Works facility in Ephrata. Participation primarily entails attending the meetings and reading material sent by the Public Works Department so that members can make informed opinions. There is no compensation for attending meetings.
