Alleged vehicle thieves nabbed in Othello
OTHELLO — A pair of alleged vehicle thieves was arrested in Othello last week.
The Othello Police Department reports about 5:40 a.m. on Friday Felidonio Silva-Gonzalez, 27, and a 16-year-old boy stole a running vehicle from the 900 block of Capstone Avenue. The suspects allegedly drove the car out of the city and stole the vehicle’s speakers and stereo.
The suspects reportedly returned to town later and stole a parked, running vehicle from the 1300 block of East Elm Street. A OPD sergeant was reportedly in the area as the second vehicle was being stolen. The sergeant called in backup and the vehicle was pulled over. In addition to Silva-Gonzalez and the 16-year-old being tied to the two car thefts, the OPD reports the pair also stole a donation jar from an Othello business on Thursday.
Silva-Gonzalez was booked into the Adams County Jail for two counts of theft of a vehicle and theft of the donation jar. The 16-year-old was booked into the Martin Hall Juvenile Facility on the same charges as Silva-Gonzalez. The boy is facing an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.
