Awarded degree 20 years later

Mrs. Lola Mae Naatus received her degree from the University of Washington recently, just 20 years after she went through graduation ceremonies with her class. She originally had received a blank sheepskin, because formalities were incomplete. Last fall Mrs. Naatus started checking up, found that the slight difficulties no longer existed and won her degree, bachelor of arts in arts and sciences.

Grangers meet in Quincy

Moses Lake Grangers will hold their next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday night, in the Quincy grange hall, Master George Benson said this week. A county-wide friendship meeting is planned for the evening.

BPW food sale declared success

A food sale held Saturday by members of the Business and Professional Women’s Club was a great success, Mrs. Clint Sincleir, chairman, said this week. Held at Basin Electric, the event was called off at 2 p.m., when everything had been sold.

Who’s doing what…

-Mrs. Ralph Walton entered the Columbia Basin Hospital Friday for observation and treatment.

-Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Shadduck celebrated their wedding anniversary Jan. 25 with dinner at the Cascade Dine and Dance.

-Mrs. Sam Weber returned home Saturday after an extended illness at the Soap Lake Hospital.

-Miss Sandra Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Larson, is enrolled for the winter term at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She completed thee fall quarter at Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah.

-Mrs. Drew Cruikshank and Mrs. Russel Smith won honors when the Tuesday bridge club played last week in the home of Mrs. Earl Millican.

-Robert A. Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Taylor, spent eight hours on Stevens pass during the big blizzard, on his way over here. He was an overnight guest in Moses Lake when he arrived.

Library to add Saturday opening

The Senior Women’s Club Library will be open to the public every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 o’clock in addition to the Friday afternoon schedule. Mrs. S.E. Larson, chairman of the Club’s library committee, said the hours were being added to permit more persons to borrow library books.
