March 8, 1922 – June 16, 2018

Susie Elisabeth Koehn went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the age of 96 at Samaritan Hospital, Moses Lake, Wash.

Susie was born, March 8, 1922 at Taloga, Okla. When she was a young lady her family moved to Blaine, Wash.. Her family cleared land there and a road up there still bears their last name. She met and married her husband Elmer Koehn on June 18, 1946. Their nine children were born there. They resided there until 1968 when they bought a farm in the Royal Slope area of Royal City, Wash. She remained the next 39 years there where they farmed until Elmer passed away in January of 2008. She spent the next 10 years living with her daughter Rebecca in Moses Lake, Wash.

Susie loved children, was an avid gardener, enjoyed her many varieties of flowers, made the best bread and sewed clothes for her family. She always had something to talk about, whether it was to do with the Bible, politics or growing up in Oklahoma. She also was quite the artist. Family have many of her drawings and paintings displayed in their homes. We will dearly miss her.

She is survived by six sons Gene (Rosa), Randy (Jackie), Mike (Brenda), Chris (Lynn), Dale and Chester and daughter Rebecca. Also surviving her are over a hundred grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents Jacob and Amanda Koehn, her husband Elmer, a brother Paul and two infant children Sherwin and Teresa.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories at 831 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, Wash. There will be an earlier visitation from 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery on the Royal Slope with a graveside gathering. There will be a reception following at the Gene Koehn farm. All are welcome to be with us as we gather for these services to commemorate Susie’s life and home going.
