State trooper rear-ended near Quincy

QUINCY — A trooper was rear-ended by a pickup truck in a construction zone near Quincy early Tuesday morning.
About 7 a.m. Washington State Patrol Trooper Jeffrey Anderson, 37, of Wenatchee, was stopped in a construction zone on state Route 28, about six miles east of Quincy, in a 2016 Dodge Charger unmarked patrol car when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Alphonso Goudeaux, 39, of Bothell. The Ford, which was pulling a trailer, rolled and came to a rest in a ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Goudeaux was injured and transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata for treatment. Anderson was not injured. Both of the vehicles involved in the collision sustained reportable damages and were either impounded or towed from the scene. The cause of the collision is under investigation and citations are pending. A detective with the patrol’s Criminal Investigation Division used a drone on Tuesday to map, document and process the scene, which Trooper Brian Moore says allowed for faster processing of the scene.
