KENNEWICK — The Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo made a recent donation of $5,175 to cancer prevention efforts in the community as part of its “Tough Enough To Wear Pink” program. The money will be shared among area hospital foundations to assist those in need in the battle against breast cancer.

Over the past 11 years, the fair has donated more than $158,000 to local programs to help uninsured women. Those dollars have enabled more than 1,500 people in our community to receive free mammograms and cancer screenings, follow-up care and other forms of assistance.

The fair partners with the Kadlec Foundation, the Trios Foundation, the Lourdes Foundation and the PMH Foundation to implement these life-saving programs. Sponsors of the program include Wrangler, Kadlec, Kadlec Clinic Hematology & Oncology, Trios Health, KEPR, Lourdes Health Network, PMH Medical Center, and Washington Trust Bank.
