Baseball roundup: Moses Lake River Dogs 4-1 in Centralia

CENTRALIA — The River Dogs nearly finished their tournament run in Centralia undefeated before a loss in the championship game to the Black Sox 8-5.

The River Dogs previously beat Primetime Baseball 10-2, the Black Sox 11-2, Lakeside Recovery 8-7 and the Diamond Jaxx 4-3.

Moses Lake fell behind multiple times against Lakeside before rallying with a three-run fourth inning to take the lead for good. Dominic Signorelli hit a three-run homer to right field to give the River Dogs the lead.

Against the Diamond Jaxx, Cody Goodwin broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning with a sacrifice fly ball that scored Emmitt Tatum.

Moses Lake could not close out the Black Sox for a second time in its last game. The River Dogs led 5-0 after one inning, however, the Black Sox scored eight unanswered runs, including six in the seventh inning.

CB River Dogs 3-1 in Centralia

CENTRALIA — The Columbia Basin River Dogs reached the semifinals of the Centralia Father’s Day Tournament, but lost to the eventual champion Black Sox 8-6.

Columbia Basin beat Swing Center 9-1, the younger Black Sox 9-5 and the Diamond Jaxx 11-7 en route to the semifinals.

Joe Taylor collected 10 total hits over the four-game stretch.

Walleyes split games at Ed McNamara Tournament

MOSES LAKE — The Walleyes finished 2-2 at the Ed McNamara Tournament, winning two games on Saturday.

Moses Lake dropped its opener to Columbia Gorge 4-3 before winning both its Saturday games against the Crew 6-3 and Mt. Spokane 11-6. Moses Lake lost a rematch to Mt. Spokane in its tournament finale on Sunday 11-1.

The Walleyes rallied from a 3-0 deficit with six unanswered runs against the Crew. A three-run third inning helped tie the game. Bryce Hansen and Carson Carlos drew bases-loaded walked before Tre Ramirez scored on a wild pitch.

CJ Ramirez scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning on one of the Crew’s four errors. John Shea pitched a complete game with three strikeouts.

The Walleyes came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat Mt. Spokane in the first meeting. Moses Lake evened the game, 6-6, with three runs in the fifth. From there, Moses Lake added five more runs over the last two innings.

Mt. Spokane kicked the ball around some, committing six errors. Carter Visker drove in two runs and Kamden Kuykendall doubled and had an RBI.

Mt. Spokane responded on Sunday with a seven-run inning to win the rematch. Kaeden Vasquez drove in the lone Walleye run.
