Walleyes swept on the road by West Valley

YAKIMA — The Walleyes struggled on the road and were swept by West Valley 21-4 and 11-8.

Moses Lake held a brief 1-0 lead in the opener before things went south. West Valley plated five runs in the second inning and 15 in the fourth to create an insurmountable deficit.

West Valley had five players account for seven doubles and two players drove in four runs each.

Moses Lake scattered three hits, two of which came from Carter Visker.

The Walleyes let another lead get away in Game 2. After two runs scored on an error and Bryce Hansen hit a two-run double, the Walleyes led 4-0 after one inning.

The lead held up until West Valley erupted for five runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth.

Trailing 11-5 entering the seventh inning, the Walleyes mounted a comeback with consecutive RBI singles by Hansen, Isiah Bernal and Chayton Fisk.
