| June 11, 2018 8:41 PM

SOAP LAKE —A level 3 evacuation notice went out Monday evening from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office due to a large, rapidly spreading wildfire.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office issued the notice a little after 8 p.m. for residents of the area on the east side of state Route 17 from the city of Soap Lake north to milepost 91. The city itself was not at risk, the notice added.

“Level 3 means you are in immediate danger,” said the notice. “Load your family and pets into your vehicle, and GO NOW. There will be no further warnings!”

Details as to the size and containment of the fire were not available at press time.
