Delores Stella McNeely

April 12, 1928 – June 5, 2018

Delores Stella McNeely, formerly of Soap Lake, Wash., passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

She was born April 12, 1928 in Java, S.D. to Magdelena and George Bieber.

She was a graduate of Mobridge High School in 1946. After obtaining her teachers certificate, she taught elementary school for a few years.

Delores married Vern F. McNeely on June 1, 1947. They made their home in Timber Lake, S.D. where they raised four children. As well as being a wonderful wife and mother, Delores also helped out in various family businesses with her husband. They owner a five-and-dime store as well as a boot and saddle Shop, both in Timber Lake, S.D. She has always been very active in church and civic organizations.

After selling their business, she joined her husband in travels for five years until 1979 when they moved to Deaver, Wyo. for 16 years. In 1995 they relocated to Soap Lake, Wash.

Delores had many hobbies. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles, cook, sew, crochet and knit. She was also an avid bowler, winning several league trophies while living in South Dakota.

Her favorite times were spent with friends and family. She will be remembered fondly by family members for the wonderful blue-jean quilts and Care-Bears she made for all of them.

She is survived by her two sons Keith and Jerry, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters Nettie and Renny and her sister-in-law Arlene.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Vern McNeely; daughter Judy Cavier; son John McNeely; two sisters Elsie and Viola; brother George; son-in-law Paul Cavier and grandson Paul Cavier Jr.
