Michael Matthew DeShaw

| June 4, 2018 3:00 AM

Michael Matthew DeShaw passed away peacefully at his home in Moses Lake, Wash. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 62.

Michael is survived by his son Matthew Ryan Mendez; daughters Mona Vines and Meghan Lamb; brothers Jeffrey D. DeShaw and Eric L. DeShaw; his sister Nora E. DeShaw; nephews Anthony, Connor and Mitchell; niece Natalie and grandchildren Josslyn and Kaley. In death, Michael joins his parents Dale Anthony DeShaw and Shirley “Pinky” Brewer as well as his brothers Bradley D. DeShaw and Gregory G. DeShaw.

Michael lived his entire life in the state of Washington where he primarily resided in Moses Lake. There he attended Moses Lake High School. Michael worked hard for many years alongside friends and his brothers Brad and Jeff for Spies Bros. Painting.

Mikey D. was known and loved throughout the community for his generous heart and gregarious chuckle. He enjoyed sharing his love of nature and appreciation for music with friends and family. Especially at outdoor gatherings or anywhere he could help spread cheer and brotherly love; preferably at the family lake retreat with horseshoe pits and plenty of food nearby.

Upon retirement, Michael led a quiet, Christian life. Being mindful of his health, he took his sobriety and faith very seriously. He found joy in his new hobbies of home gardening, canning and baking. His garden and apricot tree provided all the ingredients he needed for his delicious homemade salsas and jams that were happily shared with friends and neighbors.

The memorial service is on June 10, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 808 E. Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, Wash. All are welcome to attend.

A celebration of life and remembrance will be held that afternoon at 3 p.m. at Zamora Park, 401 N. Clover, Moses Lake, Wash. Again, all are welcome. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, but feel free to bring along your favorite beverages and any food items you would like to share.
