The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1044.26 feet a foot down from last week. The water temperature on the main Reservoir is at 75 degrees and in the mid upper 70’s back in the sand dunes.

The Largemouth fishing continues to be very good. Most Largemouth have finished up their spawning activities.

The fish are spreading out a bit – fish the dunes, face of the dam, and the stretch between MarDon Resort and the State Park. Fish the same pattern as last week - Senkos, Chigger Craws - Texas Rigged, Punch Rigs, Jigs, and Spinnerbaits and popping frogs have all been productive. The smallmouth fishing has picked up this week. Smallmouth are being caught in the sand dunes, on the rock piles off Goose Island and along the face of the dam. Use crankbaits, 3 ½” tubes, and Senkos for the Smallmouth.

The walleye fishing is fair to good. They are setting up in the weeds and on the weed lines up Crab Creek and in the sand dunes. Fish are being caught trolling Slow Death rigs with Smile Blades and Butterfly Blade rigs as well as traditional spinner/crawler harnesses. Crankbaits and swimbaits have been productive back in the dunes in 4-15 feet of water. Fish Lind Coulee, Crab Creek and the sand dunes for the walleye.

Trout are being caught in the Seep Lakes on Power Bait, and or worms and Rooster Tails. The top lakes have been Soda Lake, Long Lake, and Upper and Lower Hampton Lakes. The trout fishing on the Potholes Reservoir has been productive this week. Anglers have been catching big fish trolling #5 and # 7 Flicker Shads and Shad Raps in front of the State Park.

The crappie fishing has been very good off the MarDon Reort dock with limits being caught. Remember – the Crappie limit is 25 fish per person with a 9” limit.as well as back in the sand dunes. Use a 1” Berkley Gulp Minnow in Black Shad, Smelt, or Luma Glow on a 1/80th -1/32nd ounce jig head. A few perch are being caught off the dock as well as around Goose Island.

Only registered guests of MarDon Resort able to fish off the dock. Call the MarDon Store for the latest fishing info and to make reservations at 509-346-2651.
