Former ML superintendent named Administrator of the Year
WENATCHEE — Michelle Price, the former superintendent of the Moses Lake School District and current superintendent of the North Central Educational Service District (ESD) has been named National Education Administrator of the Year for 2018.
Price, who left the MLSD in 2017, will be receiving the award from the National Association of Educational Office Professionals, a Wichita, Kan,-based organization that represents educational administrators, at its upcoming national conference in Bloomington, Minn.
“It’s quite the honor to be invited,” Price told the Columbia Basin Herald. “I cannot complain, I’m blessed to do this work, and it’s especially good to support small school districts.”
Price became eligible for the national award when she was named in April as the state’s Administrator of the Year by the Washington Association of Educational Office Professionals.
“Price is a great leader, motivator and cheerleader for the education support professionals and the districts she supervises,” said Melisa White, the Moses Lake resident who nominated Price. “She is an exemplary leaders in every role she has undertaken.”
Price said the award honors the people she works with as much as it honors her.
“Together, we accomplish great things,” Price said. “Nothing that we do we do on our own.”
