Roberta June Hall

Roberta June Hall died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2018 at the age of 85 after convalescing two years at Summer Wood Special Care Center of Moses Lake. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at the Moses Lake Presbyterian Church, 1142 W. Ivy. Interment will be in the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake. Roberta was born April 16, 1933 to Lafayette Earl and Francis Clepp Wider of Emerald City, Wis. She was one of three children. They moved to Ellsworth, Wis. where she met and married Clarence Robert Gilbertson in 1950. They divorced in 1963 and she moved to Brainerd, Minn. where she later met Richard H. Dubbs, a divorcé with four children. Richard worked for the U.S. Post Office and the blended family transferred to Elk Grove, Calif. in 1964 where Roberta worked at the Elk Grove High School Cafeteria, later at the James Rutter Middle School as a librarian and at the Wm. Daylor Continuation High School as the school secretary. Upon Richard’s retirement in 1973, they built a house in Hungry Horse, Mont. That marriage ended in 1975 and Roberta moved to Moses Lake in 1976 where she took a job with Washington Trust Bank. There she met and married GW “Dub” Hall, owner of Hall’s Body Shop, adding Dub’s office work to her list of tasks. She also participated in the Lady Lions and the Lady Elks and formed the Presbyterian Church’s library. She doted upon her extended family, loved sewing and quilting and made a number of lap quilts for the Veterans Hospital. She was widowed in 2016.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Delores Wider Herum (David), River Falls, Wis. and Janice (Glen) Wider Hilan, St. Paul, Minn.; husbands Clarence (Marianne) Gilbertson, River Falls, Wis.; Richard (Barbara) Dubbs, Kalispell, Mont. and GW “Dub” Hall, Moses Lake. Wash. and son Douglas (Faye) Hall, Spokane, Wash. Survivors include Linda (Thomas) Gilbertson Fea, Sacramento, Calif.; Robert (Debbie) Gilbertson, Ellsworth, Wis.; Steven (Pat) Gilbertson, Mesa, Ariz.; Sharon (Dan) Gilbertson Dale, Moses Lake, Wash.; Larry (Jill) Dubbs, Cameron Park, Calif.; Donald Dubbs, Crane, Mo.; Ronald Dubbs, Mesa, Ariz.; Dena (John) Hall Fought, Othello, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
