MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Adventist Church is going to be hosting a free dental clinic today and tomorrow, and all are welcome.

This is the second year the church has put on the two-day clinic.

“We weren’t sure we could do it, but we were able to pull it together,” said Pastor Clinton Meharry.

The church is holding its clinic at Crestview Christian School, 1601 W. Valley Rd. It’s first come, first served with doors opening today and tomorrow at 9 a.m. and closing at 4 p.m. The clinic includes free X-rays, extractions, cleanings and fillings, as well as health screenings, massages and haircuts.

Meharry said last year, the church saw 144 people during the two-day clinic.

Dentists are coming from across the state to participate, Meharry said, with the equipment provided by Caring Hands Worldwide, a Springfield, Ore.-based dental charity that helps provide no-cost dental care to the needy and the poor around the world.

“It will be very similar to last year, but we won’t have people waiting outside,” Meharry said. “They’ll be waiting in the sanctuary.”

The line has been moved indoors in order to keep people out of the heat, Meharry said. He added that the clinic will have only one beautician to cut hair instead of three, though haircuts and massages will still be available.

“We look forward to see what the Lord does,” Meharry said.
