Cowlitz comes back to beat Wenatchee Applesox 6-3
WENATCHEE — Cowlitz scored three runs apiece in the sixth and seventh innings to beat Wenatchee 6-3.
Austin Bell was 2-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Cowlitz.
Wenatchee grabbed the lead early with one run in the first inning.
Johnny Sage and Connor McCord hit consecutive singles for the first run. Sage sprayed the first of his three hits, stole second base and came around to score on McCord’s RBI single.
Wenatchee added one more run each in the fourth and fifth innings to open up a 3-0 advantage.
Jake Taylor hit a solo home run in the fourth and McCord followed in the fifth with a solo blast of his own.
However, Wenatchee’s bats settled down and Cowlitz took advantage.
Cowlitz tied the game with three runs in the sixth inning.
Ryan Kim advanced to third base on an error before he was singled home. Andres Sosa followed with a two-run home run to tie the game.
Cowlitz loaded the bases in the seventh inning and Austin Bell hit a two-run single.
Hunter Boyd struck out eight batters in six innings.
