GILLETTE, Wyo. — The River Dogs No. 1 announced their presence at the Babe Ruth regional tournament immediately.

British Columbia’s starting pitcher lasted 1/3 of an inning as the River Dogs unloaded early and often for a 19-0 win in their tournament opener. The North Washington state champions tallied 10 runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second.

Moses Lake’s Dominic Signorelli broke things open with an RBI single in the first.

The River Dogs went on to load the bases before Duncan Favor cleared them. Favor made it 5-0 with a one-out grand slam to center field.

The River Dogs loaded the bases again in the first inning, adding three more runs when Evan McLean, Joe Taylor and Signorelli all drew walks. Evan Devolve added an RBI single to cap the first-inning onslaught.

Despite scoring enough runs to win the game in five innings by way of the 10-run rule, the River Dogs were far from finished.

Cody Alvarado and Joe Taylor hit RBI singles to make the score 13-0 in the second.

Zac Berryman and Devolve followed with a pair of two-run homers.

Up 17-0 after two innings, the River Dogs tacked on two more runs in the third.

Alvarado scored on a fielder’s choice, hit by Emmitt Tatum, and Peter Aspholm hit a sacrifice fly ball that scored McLean.

British Columbia managed one hit total off three different River Dog pitchers.

Favor got the start and worked 2 2/3 innings of one-hit ball.

Taylor and Alvarado allowed no hits in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Dax Lindgren doubled and scored a run.

River Dogs No. 2 lost their tournament opener to Primetime 10-3.
