Hammond exemplifies the 13th District's values
I have had the honor of knowing Sylvia Hammond for the 28 years I have lived in Ephrata and heartily endorse her candidacy for Democratic representative from the 13th district.
This is a woman of immense intelligence, integrity, work ethic and civility who epitomizes family values. I first came to know Sylvia when we worked together in our children’s kindergarten class. She has been a dedicated supporter of education both as a public school substitute teacher and an LDS seminary instructor. She cares about the educational opportunities for all children K-12 and beyond. She also supports funding for public school pre-K. Another of her priorities is access to health care, including mental health.
Sylvia is the mother of five children, grandmother of six and has lived in the Columbia Basin for 40 years where she and her husband ran their family farm. She has first-hand knowledge of the challenges agriculture faces.
Her life is testament to the family values and civility she exemplifies. She is open, engaging and will consider thoughtfully all points of view. She encourages healthy, respectful discourse. This is essential in a representative for all of the residents of the 13th district.
I will be voting for Sylvia in the primary. Look for your ballots to arrive at your residence by July 19.
