| July 13, 2018 3:00 AM

May 29, 1932 – June 30, 2018

In loving memory of JoAnne May (Aichlmayr) Bucklin, 86, who passed away on June 30, 2018 at Prestige Assistant Living at Hearthstone in Ellensburg, Wash. JoAnne was born May 29, 1932, the first born of Lawrence Aichlmayr and Kathryn (Fuchs/Fox) Aichlmayr in Seattle, Wash.

JoAnne attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Alderwood Manor Grade School, and graduated in 1950 from Edmonds High School. During her junior year in high school at a Friday night dance, a young gentleman named Ed Bucklin asked her to dance. He won her heart and they were married at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Everett, Wash. on May 19, 1951. They spent eight years in the Seattle area and moved in 1959 to Moses Lake, Wash. They were married for 66 years.

JoAnne was a faithful Catholic servant as a Sunday School teacher and serving in countless other volunteer positions in her more than 55 years as a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

As a model wife and mother, she was always cooking, sewing clothes and costumes, decorating and entertaining. She was very social and a talented hostess, creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. She cared for her children with unsurpassed love, never missing an event or failing to volunteer for any activity in or outside of school. Her friends knew her to be extremely loyal, compassionate and kind. She was an avid golfer and bridge player.

JoAnne could tackle any project. She was perhaps best known for her love of gardening. As a certified Master Gardener for 17 years, JoAnne used her knowledge to help local farmers and gardeners, and to create a colorful landscape of flowers and plants at home.

JoAnne is predeceased by her husband Ed, who passed away May 23, 2017. She is survived by her five children Dan Bucklin (Doreen) of Aiken, S.C., Doug Bucklin (Michele) of Ellensburg, Wash., Don Bucklin (Ann) sharing residency in Houston, Texas and Ellensburg, Wash., David Bucklin of Des Moines, Wash. and daughter Dana Moler (John) of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are three siblings Pat Perkins of Durham, Calif., Ron Aichlmayr of Murray, Utah and Gary Aichlmayr of Colville, Wash.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass where we will return to God the gift of his servant JoAnne. The Mass will be held Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Road, Moses Lake, Wash. There will be a Rosary Service in the church preceding the Mass at 1:30. All are welcome.

A meal will follow the service and provide an optional opportunity to share memories of JoAnne. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at the above address in memory of JoAnne Bucklin.
