Sylvia Hammond's positions better suited to Seattle

I read the April 5 letter to the editor about Ms. Hammond who is running against Rep. Matt Manweller for state legislator. The writer offers some easy platitudes about being candid and forthright. Those types of broad and vague statements are fine, but eventually she will have to be “candid and forthright” with the voters. Here is what was posted on her Facebook page. She wants to ban guns and advocates for strong gun control measures. She supports Colin Kaepernick and all the other athletes who are taking a knee during the national anthem. This is an insult to all our veterans and she wants to appeal the federal tax cuts and impeach the president. She supports allowing men into women’s bathrooms or worse, men into girl’s bathrooms. She praises socialism. Someone needs to tell Ms. Hammond that this is Grant County and not Seattle.
