Robert Loren Severin, 72, of Mt. Airy, Md. passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.

Robert was born on Nov. 5, 1945 in Wilbur, Wash. and was the son of the late Paul Iver and Donnalee Virginia Severin.

Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed for over 40 years as a Master SteamFitter until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the American Legion FSK Post No. 11, and the SteamFitters UA Local 602. He enjoyed working on tractors, watching NASCAR, and playing lottery scratch-off tickets. He would particularly look forward to cooking his famous Sunday Breakfast.

Surviving him are his daughter and son-in-law Donnalee and Frank King of Hampstead; stepchildren Burnham Matthews and wife Debbie, Nancy Mizzer, Greggory Matthews and wife Carla, Charles Shrodes and wife Shannon; siblings Sharon Flippen and husband Dennis, Henry Severin and wife Linda and many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Jerry Severin and Donald Severin.

The family will host a Celebration of Robert’s Life on July 12, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the American Legion Frederick Post No. 11, 1450 Taney Ave., Frederick Md. Inurnment will be on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Washington State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Frederick Post No. 11.
