Summer baseball roundup: CW Spuds up and down in Spokane
SPOKANE — The Spuds received a little bit of everything during their tournament run in Spokane over the weekend.
Central Washington lost to KALB Outlaws 4-3, tied the Spokane Bandits 5-5 and beat Hodgen Distributing 5-2.
CB River Dogs 2-3 in Issaquah
ISSAQUAH — The Columbia Basin River Dogs went 2-3 at the Randy Gifford Memorial Tournament, the team’s final tournament before the postseason.
Columbia Basin won its opener 7-2 and beat the A’s in its final game 8-5. The River Dogs were handed losses by Chaffey Baseball 6-5, Toyota 1-0 and the Seattle Bombers 4-2.
Zac Berryman tripled twice.
Walleyes 1-2 at Wood Bat Classic
SPOKANE — The Moses Lake Walleyes finished 1-2 at the Wood Bat Classic in Spokane.
The Walleyes lost their first game on Friday to Southern Humboldt 6-5 and their next to the Crew 16U 9-1.
Moses Lake responded to beat Northern Lakes 10-2.
Braden Padilla doubled and had three RBIs against Northern Lakes.
