Moses Lake School District hires new principals, director

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake School District has hired four new administrators to fulfill roles district-wide and at area schools.

Steve Banda has been named director of Special Services, which oversees special education for the school district. In this role, Banda will be tasked with ensuring that students with learning disabilities succeed in a school setting.

Banda is currently the assistant director of Special Services within the Moses Lake School District, a position he has held for three years. Prior to this, Banda was an assistant principal at Frontier Middle School for 10 years.

Scott West is the new principal of Endeavor Middle School. West is currently the principal at Park Orchard Elementary, a role he has held for three years. Prior to this, West was the elementary school principal in Warden for three years, and a teacher in the Moses Lake School District for 10 years.

Stephen Doyle has been hired on as assistant principal of Moses Lake High School. Doyle is currently a teacher with Evergreen Public Schools where he has taught for the past 14 years. Doyle is also currently a secondary summer school principal, a position he has held for two years.

Adam Sawyer has been named assistant principal of Chief Moses Middle School. Sawyer is currently a teacher at North Elementary, a position he has held for five years. Prior to this, Sawyer completed his student teaching at Sage Point Elementary.

Superintendent Josh Meek commended the hires in a recent statement.

“I am so pleased to announce the hiring of these fine individuals,” Meek stated. “We have been actively working through the hiring and selection for several weeks and I have full confidence in the skills, experiences and professional future of our new administrators.”
