1 dead in Quincy collision
QUINCY — A man from Quincy died in a two-vehicle collision west of Quincy Friday night.
Jose DeLaTorre Jr., 19, was reportedly driving a Nissan Altima east on Road 9 Northwest when he allegedly attempted to yield. The Altima collided with a Ford F350 pickup truck driven by 30-year-old Michael B. Knutson, who was traveling south on Road S Northwest, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
DeLaTorre Jr. was transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center, where he died from injuries. DeLaTorre Jr.’s two passengers, 19-year-old Jesus DeLaTorre and 22-year-old Uriel Hernandez Velasquez, were transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment. Knutson declined medical attention.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the collision.
