MLHS boys basketball coaches to hold shooting clinic

| July 3, 2018 1:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake High School basketball coaches are holding an advanced shooting clinic July 16 and 17.

The clinic, held at Moses Lake High School, is led by Chiefs head coach John Hohman and his assistant coaches. The camp includes instruction on fundamentals, drills, competition and taped gameplay.

“It will be some of the things we do in practice (at the high school),” Hohman said.

The clinic is held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for incoming fourth-graders to incoming freshmen. The cost is $45.

Participants are encouraged to register early and can find more information at www.xbihoops.webs.com or by contacting assistant coach Craig Groth at 509-389-0853.

Summer ball

Moses Lake has had one of its better stretches of summer basketball, according to Hohman. Undermanned at times, Moses Lake finished second at the Les Schwab Shootout Classic in Kennewick after posting a 2-2 record at a tournament in Spokane.

“That’s (incomplete teams) just the nature of the beast of summer,” Hohman said.

The Chiefs will travel to north Idaho from July 10 to 12 to play Lakeland and Coeur d’Alene.
