Summer baseball roundup: CB River Dogs capture Bozeman Invite Championship

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Tristan Garland homered and doubled in the championship game of the Bozeman Invite and the Columbia Basin River Dogs defeated host Bozeman for the second time 4-3.

Garland’s two-run shot and extra-base hit added to his nine total hits over the tournament.

Quincy Vassar pitched into the seventh inning before Joe Taylor took over for the save.

The River Dogs previously beat Bozeman 9-8 in their second game of the tournament, rallying from an 8-2 deficit. Columbia Basin tallied a 4-1 record in Montana.

Moses Lake River Dogs 3-0 in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Moses Lake River Dogs finished 3-0 at the Summer Slam in Portland, Ore.

The River Dogs routed the Rippers 9-1 before picking up a pair of close wins over Mound Time 2-0 and Showtime 2-1.

Dominic Signorelli doubled twice and had one RBI against the Rippers. Hunter Gibson scattered two hits over seven innings pitched.

Spuds 0-3 in Boise

BOISE, Idaho — Central Washington lost three straight in Boise, Idaho.

The Spuds were edged by Boise 10-9, lost to the Idaho Cubs 10-4 and fell to Treasure Valley 7-4.

Central Washington led 7-1 against Boise before the Capitals came back over the later innings. Kameron Huberdeau was 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Pullman 8-5, Othello 6-6

OTHELLO — The Red Raiders split a doubleheader with the Pullman Posse, losing the opener 8-6 before winning the night cap 6-5.

Pullman came back in Game 1 with six runs in the sixth inning. Warden High School standout Ryan Arredondo had two RBI; Trey Garza homered with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Red Raiders completed their comeback in Game 2 after Jaxon Rocha hit a game-winning single that scored Melic Hathaway in the bottom of the seventh.

Rocha finished with one RBI and one run scored.
