SOAP LAKE — A man was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening near Soap Lake.
At about 7:40 p.m. Leland R. Ostrem, 42, of Ephrata was riding a 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on state Route 28. When he attempted to turn left onto SR-17 at Soap Lake, he lost control and rolled the bike. Both rider and vehicle came to rest blocking westbound SR-28, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Ostrem, who was wearing a helmet, was injured and airlifted to Sacred Heard Medical Center in Spokane. It was unknown whether drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the accident, and Ostrem was cited for speeding. The motorcycle sustained reportable damage and was impounded by DJ Auto Wrecking.
