Dan Robert Cox

| January 30, 2018 2:00 AM

September 12, 1968 – January 23, 2018

Dan Robert Cox, 49, who called Warden, Wash. home, passed away in Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 23, 2018. Dan was born on Sept. 12, 1968, and was the first of six children born to Dan and Shirley Cox.

At an early age we recognized his love for learning. This was true throughout the rest of his life; he proved to be a lifetime learner. He earned his Eagle Scout by the age of 17. He was athletic and worked at keeping himself physically fit, especially after two back surgeries.

He enjoyed playing the piano and later taught himself to play the guitar. He studied business, had a bachelor’s degree in marketing, and later received his Doctorate in Chiropractic specializing in endocrinology. Many of his talents included landscaping, designing and building homes and interior decorating as well as caring for people using his degree in chiropractic care.

Dan loved the Gospel and served in the Tallahassee, Fla. mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He testified many times of how thankful he was to have had the opportunity to serve and the fondness he had towards the people he taught.

So when we say no job was too difficult for Dan, it really wasn’t. He was always interested in loving and helping others to be their very best. He could command an audience, was a great motivational speaker and had a way of building others up. His goal was to always leave anything or anyone better than he found them.

Dan is survived by his parents, Dan and Shirley Cox; siblings Shelley (Russ) Roden, Tim (Christie) Cox, Shane (Ronda) Cox, Deanna (Charlie) Dansie and Melissa (Judd) Dunn; 11 nieces and six nephews whom he loved and adored.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dan and MaryLou Cox and Robert and Jean Webster, uncle Oscar Carl (OC) Cox and niece Shelby RuShelle Roden.
