MOSES LAKE — Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen during a break-in at a jewelry store in downtown Moses Lake last week.

Moses Lake police records show the perpetrators of the break-in at Frederick’s Jewelry, 208 W. Third Ave., backed a vehicle into the front of the business sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning. The front door of the business and some side glass were broken in the incident.

Frederick’s owner Nicholas Paul said thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen from inside of his business and thousands of dollars of damage was done as well. In addition to the initial break-in, unknown suspects attempted to get back into the business sometime Thursday night or Friday morning, but, Paul says, they weren’t able to gain access to his store.

Paul said in all of his years at Frederick’s he has never experienced a break-in like this one and he is taking measures in the future to ensure that his business is safe.

If you have any information about the incident contact the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-764-3887.
