Prep roundup: Moses Lake girls bowling fourth at districts

EAST WENATCHEE — Reigning state champion Eastmont held off rival Wenatchee for the District 6 4A championship 3,856-3-748.

Of the top four teams eligible for a team district championship and berth to state, Moses Lake finished fourth with 3,341 pins.

Kerisa Sanislo posted team-highs in the first and third games. Sanislo totaled 191 pins in Game 1 and 165 pins in Game 3. Sanislo finished 10th overall with 406 pins. Teammate Maddy Garza was right behind in 11th with 487 pins.

Eastmont held just an 18-pin advantage over Wenatchee after three games, but separated itself in the Baker portion of the tournament.

Wenatchee’s Kylah Hawkins (578) and Hannah Johnson (566) finished first and second, respectively, to earn the two individual state berths.

Haley Rogers (468) in 14th rounded out the Chiefs’ placers.

Boys wrestling

Quincy 53, Grandview 17

QUINCY — Quincy won all but four matches to beat Grandview 53-17 on senior night.

The Greyhounds pulled within one point, 18-17, after Ian Campuzano defeated Oswaldo Perez 6-3. The Jacks answered with seven consecutive wins to close the dual.

Ruben Vargas (285), D’Angelo Aguilar (106), Devon Salcedo (145), Mykenzi Realme (160), Victor Tafoya (170) and Jose Avila (195) won by fall.

Ephrata 57, East Valley 18

EPHRATA — Ephrata took advantage of forfeits and pins to rout East Valley 57-18.

The Red Devils forfeited four weights. The dual was tied 15-15 before seven of the last eight weight classes went Ephrata’s way.

Sammy Flores (113), Clay Johns (120), Juan Mendoza (138), Valerio Placido (145) and Corbin Sager (160) pinned their opponent.

Boys basketball

Davenport 65, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 62 (OT)

DAVENPORT — Davenport outscored Almira/Coulee-Hartline 9-6 in overtime to win 65-62.

The Warriors battled back from a first-half deficit, but fell short in the extra period.

Payton Nielsen and Maguire Isaak scored 21 and 17 points, respectively.

Davenport 54, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 39

DAVENPORT — Davenport defended well in its win against Almira/Coulee-Hartline 54-39.

The Gorillas limited Gabi Isaak to six points. Tiffany Boutain scored 16 points to lead the Warriors.

Liberty Bell 45, Soap Lake 29

WINTHROP — Soap Lake could not match Liberty Bell offensively and lost 45-29.

No Eagle scored in double figures. Sierra Janikowski had a team-high nine points; Sophie Janikowski scored eight.
