Fundraising page set up for destroyed Moses Lake salon
MOSES LAKE — A GoFundMe page was set up for a Moses Lake hairstyling salon destroyed by fire Saturday night. The “Save Salon Envy ML” page had raised $1,850 as of Tuesday morning, in less than 24 hours. The salon was one of two businesses destroyed in the spectacular fire; the second was Chico’s Pizza, the longtime Moses Lake landmark. Customers from the salon and friends of owner Heather Kerekffy set up the page. They asked regular salon customers to donate the cost of their last haircut or product purchase from the salon, and for others interested in donating, to donate the cost of their last haircut. “The cost of one haircut is a small sacrifice to an individual, but pooled together with a community of caring individuals, this could really make an impact,” the page sponsors wrote. “My salon team/family is completely devastated by the fire,” Kerekffy wrote on social media. “Our lives are on hold until we find a new location.” “Heather has been an amazing hairstylist, friend and listener whenever my family has come in, and she has such a big heart, especially for those with special needs,” wrote Connie Suehero on the GoFundMe page.
