Prep roundup: Moses Lake wrestling rallies to beat Eastmont

EAST WENATCHEE — Moses Lake overcame a slow start to beat Eastmont 47-25.

Moses Lake lost its first three matches and forfeited the fourth before storming back with wins in the next nine.

Levi Carlos began the comeback with a win by fall at 152 pounds. Bailey Sanchez, Payton Castro, Pablo Mejia and Jonathan Tanguma also pinned their opponents.

Moses Lake travels to the Dream Duals this weekend before closing the regular season with a home dual against Sunnyside Jan. 23.

“We wrestled well,” Rudy Ochoa II said. “Lost a couple close ones, but overall I’m happy with our performance.”

COULEE CITY — Almira/Coulee-Hartline held Odessa to no more than eight points in a quarter and won 66-31.

The Warriors led 41-15 at halftime. Gabi Isaak scored 24 points.

Moses Lake Christian 55, Easton 23

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Christian led by 19 points at halftime and beat Easton 55-23.

Easton only had five players at its disposal in the second half and was forced to play 4-on-5 in the third quarter when Loreidy Santiago was injured.

A lay-up by Anastasia Gulenko put the Lions ahead by 31 points in the third quarter.

Soap Lake 48, Pateros 33

PATEROS — Soap Lake won at Pateros 48-33.

Sierra Janikowski led the Eagles with 11 points.

Boys basketball

Odessa 64, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 57

COULEE CITY — Almira/Coulee-Hartline was outscored by 12 points in the fourth quarter and lost to Odessa 64-57.

ACH led 41-36 after three quarters.

Maguire Isaak scored a team-high 20 points and Payton Nielsen added 14.
