| January 11, 2018 2:00 AM

QUINCY — A surveyor was reported to be in critical condition on Wednesday after he was reportedly struck by an SUV in Quincy.

About 11:15 a.m. a contracted surveyor was working in the lanes of state Route 28, in the city of Quincy, when a motorist in a Ford Excursion reportedly entered SR-28 from Fourth Avenue Southeast. The driver of the Ford, whose identity was not released, reportedly did not see the male surveyor and struck him with the SUV, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman.

The victim was initially transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center, but was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of serious injuries. Foreman said the sheriff’s office’s Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the collision. Charges are not expected to be filed against the driver of the Ford.
