Moses Lake grad Cesar Sandoval leads Spokane over Big Bend

SPOKANE — Cesar Sandoval can flat-out score.

The Moses Lake High School graduate poured in a team-high 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting to lead Spokane over Big Bend 109-81.

Spokane did its work early, leading 58-32 at halftime.

Christopher Hawkins paced the Runnin’ Vikes with 29 points. Koby Huerta (12) and Mauricio Smith (11) were the only other Big Bend players to score in double figures.

Big Bend (1-2, 8-7) hosts Walla Walla Saturday at 4 p.m.

Spokane 69, Big Bend 61

SPOKANE — Spokane outscored Big Bend by six points in the fourth quarter and won 69-61.

Moses Lake graduate Jessica Olson put together an all-around game for Spokane, totaling 18 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Hailey Garrity recorded a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds for Big Bend. Leah Dougherty and Miranda Johnson scored 14 points each.

Big Bend (1-2, 12-4) play Walla Walla Saturday, 2 p.m., at home.
