Prep roundup: Last-second score by Jack Hardman lifts Warden over Wahluke in OT
MATTAWA — Jack Hardman scored a put-back with three seconds left and Warden stunned Wahluke in overtime 68-66.
Warden erased a four-point Wahluke advantage with about 20 seconds to play in regulation. Zach Richins split a pair of free throws, but Wahluke traveled on its ensuing possession. Dreyton Martinez buried a game-tying three with six seconds left.
The Warriors jumped out to a six-point lead in overtime before the Cougars clawed back.
Richins scored five of his 27 points at the end of overtime to tie the game 66-66. After a stop on the defensive end, Warden’s Kaden Skone was fouled. Skone missed both free throws, but the second attempt was tipped back to Hardman by Richins for the go-ahead basket.
Martinez finished with 22 points and Hardman, who was a game-time decision after suffering a broken nose, posted nine points and 17 rebounds.
Warden (2-3, 5-6) hosts College Place on Friday and Royal on Saturday. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Wahluke (3-3, 8-4) is on the road this weekend against Columbia and Connell.

Davenport 55, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 34
RITZVILLE — Lind-Ritzville/Sprague did not reach double figures scoring in any quarter and lost to Davenport 55-34.
The Gorillas outscored the Broncos 35-16 in the second half. Eliza Galbreath and Linnea Shafer scored nine points each for LRS (3-5, 5-6).

WILSON CREEK — Wilson Creek remained unbeaten with a win over Moses Lake Christian 59-37. Anissa Odorizzi led the Devils with 14 points and eighth-grader McKenzie Lembcke scored 13.
Anastasia Gulenko scored 14 points for the Lions.

Othello dominates league meet
OTHELLO — Othello and Warden scored lopsided wins in Tuesday’s Central Washington League meet.
Othello beat Quincy 66-12 and beat Eastmont 72-12. The Jacks forfeited seven weight classes. Warden handled Eastmont 52-24 and cruised past Quincy 45-24.
Othello hosts its Lady Huskie Invite, starting Friday at 5 p.m.

West Valley 3, Moses Lake 1
YAKIMA — Moses Lake had an off-day at the lanes and fell to West Valley 3-1.
Usually scoring in the mid 700s, Moses Lake (5-6, 6-6) totaled 617 and 648 pins in the first two games. By comparison, West Valley racked up 726 pins in Game 1 and 815 in Game 2. Jasmine Steele led the Chiefs in the first game with 140 pins and Camille Sanislo had a team-high 139 in the second.
West Valley secured the match after winning the first Baker game 170-136. Moses Lake salvaged the second Baker game 150-142.
Moses Lake closes its Columbia Basin Big Nine schedule at Eisenhower on Thursday. Ellensburg comes to Lake Bowl on Jan. 16 for the regular season finale.
