Lila Weis

August 22, 1930 – December 18, 2017

Lila passed away on Dec. 18, 2017 in Spokane. She was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Milk River, Mont. to John and Doris Steele. Upon graduation from nursing school in St. Ignatius, Mont., Lila worked at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Wash. There she met William C. Weis and they were married on Jan. 30, 1952. Lila Helped Bill on their wheat farm until 1975, when they moved to Spokane. Lila loved helping others and volunteered for Job’s Daughters, Cub Scouts and numerous hospitals and medical facilities.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2010, daughter Betty Jo, sister Delores and brother Wilfred (Swede). She is survived by her son Bill, daughter-in-law Mollie, grandson John, sisters Dorothy and Hazel and brother Delbert (Bud).

A celebration of life service will be held at Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington St, Spokane, Wash. on Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Congregational Church.
