Burst pipes keep 600 Red Rock Elementary students at home

ROYAL CITY — Red Rock Elementary School was closed Monday, Jan. 9 after frozen fire suppression pipes in the ceiling thawed and flooded classrooms. Preliminary reports estimated the damage at $100,000.

JRCC emergency water damage specialists dispatched crews from Moses Lake, Ellensburg and Wenatchee to begin immediate cleanup and restoration.

District Superintendent Roger Trail hoped students would be able to return to class on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
