RITZVILLE — Two people were airlifted from the scene of single vehicle collision near Ritzville over the weekend.

About 5:45 p.m. on Saturday Lance Ziegler, 62, of Davenport, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on state Route 395, about two miles southwest of Ritzville, when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The Chevy reportedly rolled into the median and came to a rest on its tires facing southwest, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Ziegler and one of his two passengers, identified as Mary Ziegler, 51, of Davenport, were seriously injured and airlifted from the scene to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for treatment. Another passenger in the Chevy, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital in Ritzville for treatment.

The patrol reports citations are pending and the cause of the collision was Ziegler speeding too fast for conditions.
